ALL

Acute lymphocytic leukemia. Numerous lymphoblasts visible. Canine (ALL).

Acute lymphocytic/lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL): markedly increased numbers of immature lymphoblasts on blood smear (lymphocytosis usually greater than 150 x 109/L). Lymphoblasts are large cells with prominent nucleoli and dark blue cytoplasm, and often rupture due to fragility (basket cells or smudge cells).

ALL 2 (Canine 2) ARROWS
Acute lymphocytic leukemia. Lymphoblasts (arrows) are very large compared to red blood cells. Rouleaux also visible (not marked). Feline (ALL).
ALL 3 (Canine 3) ARROWS
Acute lymphocytic leukemia. Lymphoblast (arrows) is very large compared to red blood cells with dark cytoplasm and prominent nucleoli. Canine (ALL).
ALL 4 (Feline 1) ARROWS
Acute lymphocytic leukemia. Lymphoblasts (arrows) are very large compared to red blood cells with dark cytoplasm and prominent nucleoli. Metarubricyte (arrowhead). Rouleaux also visible (not marked). Feline (ALL).
ALL 5 (Canine 4) ARROWS
Acute lymphocytic leukemia. Lymphoblasts (arrows). Mature lymphocyte (arrowhead). Neutrophil also visible (not marked). Canine (ALL).
ALL 6 (Canine 5) ARROWS
Acute lymphocytic leukemia. Numerous lymphoblasts present. Basket cells (ruptured lymphoblasts) are also visible (arrowheads). Canine (ALL).
ALL 7 (Canine 6)
Acute lymphocytic leukemia. Numerous lymphoblasts. Canine (ALL).
